Customer Reviews: 1 Average Customer Rating: May 29, 2008 D.D. Hamilton from Mobile, Alabama Nice read In my reading of the book Beginning VB 2008 Databases: From Novice to Professional By Vidya Vrat Agarwal I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of understanding. I also appreciated the Try it Out exercises. Though it may lack some detail, it is a perfect book to get a novice programmer started in the right direction. It touches on the more important topics of database programming with VB and covers the new technologies from the latest release of Visual Studio and the .NET Framework to ADO, LINQ etc. The book also gets one acquainted with SQL, Windows Forms, ASP and Console applications. At around 400 pages it is not a major task to finish the book in a short period of time. I recommend this book as a getting started approach for any one new to development. D.D. Hamilton
