About the Author

Randal Schwartz is one of the bestselling authors of all time, having been fortunate enough to coauthor two of the seminal books on learning Perl. Perl is perhaps the seminal programming language of the Internet boom and one of the most popular programming languages for doing anything from system administration to parsing a CSV file. In addition to Programming Perl and Learning Perl, Randal just completed a new book for intermediate Perl developers, and has been the Perl columnist for UNIX Review, Web Techniques, Sys Admin, and Linux Magazine.

Once again, Randall Schwartz comes through with a winner. This book is a collection of articles that he has written in various magazines. If you had the fortune to read every magazine that published Schwartz's work in the last decade, this book will have little new for you.

For the rest of us, it is a treasure trove of little scripts, bits of knowledge, and odd humour. While some of the scripts are a bit dated, the reasoning behind the decisions making up the script are still useful.

Novices and experts alike will find bits of information they did not know or have forgotten.
