A complete waste of money.
Wrox books are often pretty good, and the ASP.NET 1.1 book was worth owning. But this one, ASP.NET 2.0, is very very poor indeed. The writing style is excruciatingly bad - you don't want to be continually told everything is 'really simple' even if it is (which it isn't). And the technical content is lightweight - few useful explanations and they resort to pages of listings with virtually no explanation. If you need a good book on ASP.NET 2.0 look at the Apress book instead - it's everything the Wrox book isn't, well written, properly thought out, logically covers the stuff you need to know.

Not ready for prime time!
If this is the Professional version I really wonder what the Beginning version is like. I found the book to be extremely disappointing.....unfortunately I couldn't give it a zero.

A few examples:

1. The index is absolutely useless. For example, you won't find MultiView or the Wizard Server Control in the index.

2. I couldn't find anything on the RowCommand which is associated with the GridView and the replacement for the ItemCommand. Definitely something that should be part of any discussion on GridView.

3. Strongly Typed DataSets and ObjectDataSources are not mentioned!

4. Most of the examples I looked at are so basic as to be worthless.

MSDN and Google will give you much better information than you will find in this book.
