Customer Reviews: 3 Average Customer Rating: Apr 25, 2006 Dean Wilson from San Francisco Great Explanations in VB.NET and C# I purchased this book wondering if I would ever use it. What I found is that I am constantly referring to this book, and the expanations that Glenn gives are easy to understand and make sense. All of the examples are in both VB.NET and C# so you can focus on the problem at hand rather than translating the examples to your language. The first chapters cover most of the ADO.NET 2.0 objects, after that the focus is on topics rather than objects. You will find connected data topics, and disconnected data topics. There is also a great chapter on using xml, and another chapter that discusses ADO.NET with the SQLCLR. This book seems to be really well thought out. It flows well, and you can easily read this from cover to cover. Thanks for making taking the time to create a great book!
Mar 28, 2006 Chris J Fisckelta from Putnam, CT Clear explanations helped save my job. Clearly written explanations and concise descriptions of processes allowed me to get up to speed quickly. The author has done it all and knows how to convey ideas accurately. This will be my bible.
Nov 10, 2005 Sue Johnson from United States This is exactly what I wanted. I have been looking for clear explanations of topics such as disconnected data access, surrogate keys versus natural keys, as well as sample code for displaying photos in a data grid that includes the ability to upload images to the database as well. This book has it, and has much more.
