About the Technology:
XML Web services are built on a variety of industry standards and the .NET Framework.
The various standards are controlled by such organizations as the WS-I, OASIS,
and W3C. This book will address the key standards available at the time of publication
and provide descriptions about what the future likely holds.
The .NET Framework is the infrastructure for the overall .NET Platform. The
common language runtime and class libraries (including ASP.NET, Windows®
Forms, and ADO.NET) combine to provide services and solutions that can be easily
integrated within and across a variety of systems. The .NET Framework provides
a fully managed, protected, and feature-rich application execution environment,
simplified development and deployment, and seamless integration with a wide
variety of languages.
