About the Authors
Yanek Korff is a Systems Administrator at Cigital and is responsible
for maintaining a variety of Unix (FreeBSD, Linux, Solaris, AIX) and WindowsNT
servers. He is also responsible for maintaining Cigital's firewall, remote access,
PBX and Audix voicemail systems. Prior to joining Cigital, he was a systems
engineer at Bell Atlantic, where he aided in the deployment of a 40+ Ultra Enterprise
server test environment by building a custom JumpStart server for automated
systems configuration, implementing backup strategies, and designing two web-enabled,
systems-management applications.
Paco Hope is a Consultant with Cigital. His areas of expertise
include PKI, cryptography, LAN networking and host security. Before joining
Cigital, he served as director of product development for Charlottesville, VA-based
Tovaris, Inc. and head systems administrator in the Department of Computer Science
at the University of Virginia. Paco has published articles on X.509 revocation
and Unix host security features.
Bruce Potter is a Senior Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton. Prior
to working at Booz Allen Hamilton, Bruce served as a software security consultant
for Cigital in Dulles, VA. Bruce is the founder of the Shmoo Group of security
professionals. His areas of expertise include wireless security, large-scale
network architectures, smartcards, and promotion of secure software engineering
practices. Bruce coauthored the books 802.11 Security and Mac OS X Security.
He was trained in computer science at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
