Customer Reviews: 1 Average Customer Rating: Oct 19, 2002 Roy Staples (roy.staples@rstaples.com) from Bay Area, California Comprehensive and Detailed - pithy yet lively If you knew of someone who had far-reaching, comprehensive knowledge of a subject based on in-the-trenches experience, you'd want to get your hands on anything s/he wrote about, wouldn't you?
This book is such a book! Having taken his course on Switch theory, I can vouch for his knowledge and experience. But what is rare is that Mr. Seifert actually conveys that knowledge in a thought provoking, lively gem.
Noone in networking should be without this book. It covers bridge/switch theory, ethernet details, spanning tree, link aggregation, VLANs, priority operation, management, and more.
And, it's readable! Coffee not required!
