Customer Reviews
Customer Reviews: 4 Average Customer Rating: May 26, 2005 Mark Edmunds from USA Okay but nothing to write home about Am only about half-way through but there are already far too many errors to give this book a strong recommendation. Most (more than half, okay) of the technical information is adequate though some explanations are, with all due respect, rather amateurish. The writing is uneven at best, good in places and downright awful in others. Both the author & the technical editor were careless in their craft. Mike Meyers should be at least a bit embarrassed to have his name on this book rather than raving about how great it is. There are better, not to mention, more complete, books for Security+.
Mar 7, 2005 This is a TERRIBLE BOOK! I would not recommend this book to anyone. It is inaccurate, incomplete and discusses topics at such a high level it is a waste of time.
Jul 9, 2004 J.D. from Ohio Not enough detail Like the previous review, this book fails to cover the test objectives in enough detail, and similarly I failed the exam as a result. Right from the start the questions were nothing like what was covered in the book--Kerberos, Cryptography, Tunneling, and IPSec are just some of the areas this book fails to cover in enough detail.
This book is more of an intro to network security principles than an actual study guide for the Sec+ exam. Buyer beware!
Oct 23, 2003 Not enough Information about Objectives This book doesn't have all of the objectives in detail and thus caused me to fail the Security+ exam.
