George's favorite books:
Color Confidence by Tim Grey -- Another great book on color management with more detailed information than the Complete Guide. Here is an excellent resource if you need to have a practical understanding of color management and workflow.
(The author's original choice was an older edition that is now out of print. This link is to the current edition)

Windows XP Registry Guide by Jerry Honeycutt -- If you're involved in any sort of tech support within an office environment, you will need to delve into the Windows registry. While not the most exciting book around, Windows XP Registry Guide offers most of the nitty-gritty information you'll need to understand this arcane topic.
(The author's original choice was an older edition that is now out of print. This link is to the current edition)

Digital Lighting & Rendering by Jeremy Birn -- I had been looking for a book like this for some time, so when I saw it in a book store, I grabbed it. Besides covering the obvious, Digital Lighting & Rendering also discusses shot selection, color balance and other related topics.
(The author's original choice was an older edition that is now out of print. This link is to the current edition)

Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Classroom in a Book by Adobe Creative Team -- Your basic classroom in a book with good examples and easy instructions. Once you get the basics down, you can pick and choose the Photoshop feature that you want to use.

The Photoshop 3 Wow Book (Out of Print) by Linnea Dayton and Jack Davis -- Here's a fun book with lots of graphics. I got it mostly for its coverage of special effects. Lots of great examples, too.

3D Studio Max 3: Visual Quickstart Guide (Out of Print) by Michele Matossian Here's an interesting book that was on my desk for quite a while. Very short, pithy explanations of tasks to sometimes too abbreviated. Amazingly small book considering the topic.

Being Digital by Nicolas Negroponte -- It may be a bit dated by now, but Being Digital offers a fresh perspective on the whole internet "revolution." A fun read.

The Complete Guide to Digital Color Correction by Michael Walker with Neil Barstow -- This is a great introduction to color management for PC users. Lots of color graphics and examples help you understand the basics, even if you are totally new to the subject.

Mastering Autodesk Architectural Desktop by Paul Aubin -- The first book on Autodesk Architectural Desktop that managed make a lot of things clear. Quite a feat for a very complex program.

Watercolor Rendering (Out of Print) by Hayashi Studio -- You won't find computers mentioned at all in this book. You will find some really fine examples of modern architectural watercolor renderings. If you do any computer graphics for architects, a book like this is priceless.
