This is Donald Chen, and I have been with a small size biotech company for almost 7 years (Gosh!).
In late summer of 1996, I landed on the US soil as an admitted CS graduate student. One of my selected courses in the very first semester was "Algorithm" and the designated textbook was the "Introduction of Algorithm" by MIT press. The street price of the textbook was somewhere around $80 -- way too expensive to a poor graduate student. Luckily, a senior fellow student helped me to buy the exact same book at a much lower price (somewhere around $60), from bookpool.com.
Since then, bookpool.com has firmly become my first choice and probably the only online bookstore for purchasing technology books, and I always recommend it to my friends. Besides the competitive price offered by bookpool, I like its focused and near-complete book collection, and I especially like the concise and clear shopping experience.
As a software engineer, in a fast-pacing and money-saving working environment, I deal with a variety of technology challenges in my day job. From C/C++, Perl to Java, from Linux to Windows, from Oracle to MySQL, from LDAP to CSS, etc, you name it. Most of the stuff I deal with is open-source or near open-source, which arguably do not offer great documents. Not being a great fan of man page and scattered info googled from the web, I seek authentic info from books and bookpool is my indispensable repository of knowledge source: less-costly, fast and always-on.
Bookpool, keep up great job!

I have been an Oracle DBA for 11 years, I started in Guyana South America in 1994. There current technical books were hard to come by. I have been buying from your site since 1996. When I had no access to current technical literature, your site was (and still is) invaluable.
Now many years later the first site I tell friends about is bookpool.com when
they want to buy technical books. Your service is phenomenal and I wish you all
the best. Your store has allowed me to build a wonderful reference library at a
cost I could afford.
I love it so much that I wrote a plug-in for Firefox which allows me to easily search your site for books, I am attaching it should you choose to distribute it.
Well done and best wishes for the years ahead.

* Who you are/what you do
I'm on the engineering and science faculty at Rensselaer At Hartford
(a branch campus of RPI in Troy, NY.). I teach several graduate
courses in Cryptography, Network Security, and Network Management.
The picture shows me in action in the classroom.
* Why you like technical books or Bookpool
I like Bookpool because of its honest values — many technical books
offered at an honest price — shipping charges are honest (actual?) and
most of all "no inflated or unreal shipping and handling charges!"
* How Bookpool has affected your career or your life
Bookpool has supplied me with many reference books to support my
teaching and research in Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
My hobbies include building bookshelves!
* The most interesting thing you learned from a Bookpool book.
New dimensions! Elliptic curve cryptography.

I'm not usually one to participate in such things, but Bookpool has saved
me so much cash over the years (plus the tempation for a t-shirt is
hard to resist) that here ya go:
I'm a self-employed programmer most often doing web applications
development in PHP, Perl and MySQL. I'm primarily self-educated, and
most of my education comes from practice and books purchased from
Bookpool.com.
Top reasons I appreciate Bookpool:
1) The prices are the best on the Internet.
2) Selection is outstanding and almost always in stock.
3) Shipment is prompt.
4) My Bookpool e-mail address has never shown up on any spam lists.
5) Finding the book I want is as easy as it gets.
Another reason that is hard to quantify is just the fact that I've
gotten the impression over the years that you are ethical, good people.
I hope I'm right, otherwise you are laughing at me now ;-)
I've found that some potential clients have an aversion to self-taught
individuals, so I've taken to linking from my online resume to a picture
of my most-oft used books, most of which spent some time in the Bookpool
warehouse: http://zenux.net/hire/bookshelf.html.
So send me that shirt in Medium, and I'll wear it proudly!

I retired from IT at Simon & Schuster in 1998. To avoid ‘retirement-rust’
I invented a one-man company and hired myself on. I teach middle-school
aged kids how to build and program LEGO robots.
Bookpool has made an important contribution because I had to go back to school to learn web design. While tuition was free to senior citizens, the college bookstore charged retail! I’ve saved several hundred dollars buying from Bookpool and when I had to return books because the instructor “made a mistake” there was absolutely no trouble! When I need a book on any computer topic, Bookpool is where I go! I rarely bother with competitors because I know at Bookpool I’ll always get a good price, fast shipping, and excellent customer service whenever I need it.
Thanks, Bookpool!

Being a director of the Internet Career Training School in MD
(http://www.rtek2000.com), I was able to save a lot of revenue dollars year
after year buying the training manuals and books directly from Bookpool.com.
Just imagine: 14 students + 1 instructor. The average saving was $5-9 per book
comparing to other discount stores (including Amazon.com). Do your math and see
why you have to buy from these guys. Happy Anniversary, Bookpool!

I've been a freelance web designer obsessed with Web Standards for years now. In that time, I discovered Bookpool and have been a loyal customer ever since. As a freelancer, I don't have the luxury of having my employer foot the bill for technical books. Bookpool has the lowest prices available and allows me to stay up to date on all web technologies. When I first started using Bookpool, I would shop around looking for lower prices on those "other" sites. Bookpool ALWAYS won. I don't bother checking anymore...

Hi BP friends,
My career was at a dead end after I had quit from a job I was passionate about (radio broadcasting) to start my own business (a bookstore) but it flopped. Then I found Bookpool when looking to buy a couple of books for a customer and I thought to myself, why not start a new career. I bought a couple of books about programming and here I am programming interactive web sites and with a new company of my own that has given me financial stability and peace of mind.
Less than $100 can’t be beaten as an investment that set me for life. BTW I sell now equipment to radio broadcasters through one of my interactive web sites.
THX Bookpool your idea sparked mine.

I heard about Bookpool from another DBA a few years ago, and ever since then,
it has been my preferred source of technical books, particularly for the Oracle Press titles.
The savings of about 40% per book is amazing. I continue to tell other database professionals about Bookpool,
so that they can enjoy the substantial savings, too.
Where else can you find such amazing discounts on CURRENT titles!
